Week 8

Baby

This week baby is about 1 inch long and the size of a dime. His facial features continue to mature, upper lip is forming, ears continue to grow and his eyelids are fully developed. This week his bones begin to grow and the nerve cells in his brain are beginning to connect. He is constantly on the move, but still too small for you to notice the action.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. The information listed on this site is designed to give you a general idea of your baby’s current development.

Mommy

Your breasts are continuing to grow in preparation for lactation-and it may be time to think about purchasing a new bra soon! Your uterus is now about the size of a grapefruit, quite an increase from the original size of your fist. You may also begin to feel extremely fatigued and you may not make it through the day without a nap! Many moms-to-be may try taking a nap during their lunch hour. A 15-20 minute nap could make a world of difference to you at this point!
