Week 6

Baby

This week your baby is about the size of a pea. The nose, mouth, and ears are beginning to form. Her arms and legs have began to bud, with webbed like structure on the hands and feet where the fingers and toes will form later. The brain is continuing to develop and the heart is beating 100-160 times per minute!

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. The information listed on this site is designed to give you a general idea of your baby’s current development.

Mommy

You may begin noticing changes in your breasts including tenderness, darkening of the areola, and swelling. These are all normal changes during your pregnancy. Many women also report being on an “emotional roller-coaster” at this point in pregnancy. That is because your hormones are constantly fluctuating to adapt to the pregnancy. So if you “bark” at your husband for not taking out the trash, and then 5 minutes later you think you may have over done it, just know that you are not alone.
