Week 4

Implantation Occurs

Implantation is an event that occurs early in pregnancy in which the embryo adheres to the wall of uterus. It is by this adhesion the fetus receives the oxygen and the nutrients from the mother to be able to grow. Implantation normally occurs around the time when you'd be expecting your period. This early stage of pregnancy can cause cramping and some spotting, but many mothers do not notice anything new.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. The information listed on this site is designed to give you a general idea of your baby’s current development.
