Week 37

Baby

Baby is like a little basketball, she weighs around 6 1/2 pounds and is ready to go at any time, so if you are not fully prepared, now is the time. Her lungs are now filled with amniotic fluid and her eyelids open and close freely. Your little one has improved her coordination and can actually grasp things with her little fingers! These last few weeks, you should sit back and enjoy the kicks and punches baby is throwing you, believe it or not, you may find yourself missing them later!

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. The information . listed on this site is designed to give you a general idea of your baby’s current development.

Mommy

If you've not yet done so, now is a good time to read up on the signs of labor. Also, you should line up some help for after you and baby arrive home. Looking ahead now, I'm sure it seems that you can handle it alone, but you can become easily overwhelmed and you will be glad you have someone to help you, even if only for the first few days. Heartburn, indigestion, and gas may all be problems you experience frequently as your internal organs are cramped in there trying to make room for your full size baby. Now that birth is right around the corner, you are probably finding it difficult to do many things including walking, sleeping, and breathing. Hang in there, it's almost over!
