Week 35

Baby

At the end of week 35, your baby will be considered full term. At this time, he should be weighing approximately 5 ½ pounds and be somewhere between 18-20 inches long. His full force kicks and turns will begin to slow as he is running out of room for all of this activity. However, you should still feel him moving around and continue to do your fetal kick counts each day. When counting, the baby should move 10 times in a 4 hour period. If he does not, you should call your practitioner for advice.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. The information listed on this site is designed to give you a general idea of your baby’s current development.

Mommy

If the baby has changed into his delivery position (head down), it is likely that his feet are in your ribcage, causing discomfort and difficulty breathing. This, along with many other things can make getting a good nights rest very difficult these days. Many people believe the reason for this is to help your body adjust to the lack of sleep you will likely experience once the baby is born. Each week when you visit the doctor, he or she will begin to check your cervix for early signs that labor is on the way.
