Week 29
Baby
This is a very important developmental stage of the pregnancy for the wee-one. He will require more nutrition than ever in these last weeks as he puts on more and more fat and muscles to prepare for his birth. This week he weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is about 15 inches long. His head is growing larger to make more room for his brain, and his bones are sucking in tons of calcium at this stage, so make sure you get plenty of calcium, so not to deprive yourself. If you do not like to drink milk, try other items that are rich in calcium such as cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, even orange juice with calcium, or you could take a calcium supplement.

Heartburn and constipation may have returned to your daily activities. Remember to eat plenty of fiber to help with the constipation. Also, it is common to develop hemorrhoids during this trimester. These can be very painful, or even itchy. They will generally clear up within the week following baby's arrival, but in the meantime, here are some helpful tips on how you can cope with them:
- Avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time
- Soak in a sitz bath
- Apply a cold compress that is medicated with witch hazel to the affected area.
