Week 12

Baby

It is the end of your first trimester! Baby’s brain structure has formed completely and her nervous system is still maturing . Her eyes and ears are moving into their permanent location on her face and she may have even learned how to use her sucking reflex. At the end of this week, baby weighs about 1 ounce and is about 3 inches long.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. The information listed on this site is designed to give you a general idea of your baby’s current development.

Mommy

Now is a good time to shop for maternity clothes, pretty soon your “pre pregnancy” clothes will start living up to their name. You may also begin to feel heartburn (acid reflux). Many women who report never having heartburn in the past will experience it during their pregnancy. Are you having strange dreams? You are not alone. Due to the hormonal change throughout the pregnancy, many women reports strange or very vivid dreams.
