- Cramps
Cramps during early pregnancy are often the result of implantation, when the egg embeds itself in the uterus. These cramps may also be accompanied by light spotting, which is often mistaken for a period.
- Fatigue
We’re not talking just sleepy here, we’re talking down right all you want to do is sleep, all day and all night-fatigue. This is extremely common occurrence of early pregnancy, as your body is learning to adjust to your new little addition.
- Darkening of the areolas
Pregnancy hormones can affect the cells in your nipples that are responsible for color. Often, the result is a darkening of the nipples, prime indication you may be expecting!

This one is a no brainer. Did you know that morning sickness affects 85% of all pregnant women? If you are sick for no reason, or maybe a certain smell sets you off…you guessed it-you may be packing some extra baggage!
- Frequent Urination
In early pregnancy, your kidneys will begin to function more efficiently to flush out fluid, resulting in multiple potty breaks. Later on in the pregnancy, this fun symptom will return. Only then, it will be a result of your fast growing baby lying upon your bladder.
- Headaches
As your blood volume increases to support the little one, it could also trigger mild tension headaches, occurring frequently during the early stages of pregnancy.
- Constipation
Pregnancy hormones cause your digestive track to slow down and your food may not pass through as quickly. As your pregnancy continues, this symptom will continue, unfortunately.
- Mood swings
Look out, moody mama on the rise! Many of your other pregnancy symptoms, especially the fatigue, will increase your moodiness.
- Missed period
This may very well be the most classic sign of pregnancy. Some women will notice all other 9 symptoms before the period is late, and for some, the first sign of pregnancy will be the monthly visitor who seems to be MIA at the present time.
While none of these symptoms are sure fire proof that you are pregnant, many of them are great early indications of what may be occurring within your body.
